With an array of different manufacturers and fashion houses lending their names to mobile phones, you would be forgiven in thinking that the Sagem Puma phone was just another middle of the road handset. It looks pretty standard from the front, with its 2.8 inch touchscreen display, but turn the phone around and you will find a solar panel on the back.

Being a handset with the Puma brand on it, this device has a range of sports applications including run tracker, bike tracker and pedometer for all your workout needs, as well as integrated GPS if you get lost and a fully fledged multimedia player for listening to music while you work out.

A 3.2 megapixel camera with LED flash is mounted on the rear and a video call camera is mounted on the front. 3G connectivity is also onboard, but unfortunately there is no Wi-Fi support. Music and video files can be stored via microSD cards up to 8GB, with a 2GB card bundled in with the device.

One of the more interesting features of the phone, apart from the solar panel is the user interface which has custom logos and catch phrases; this is a novel idea but could take some getting used to if you are more familiar with standard devices.

All in all the Puma phone by Sagem looks to be an impressive package and is due to hit the shelves sometime in April. Anyone looking for mobile phone deals at the moment might want to hold off until this great looking device hits the shops.
