The Nokia X6 is one of the latest mobile phones from Nokia and follows in the footsteps of its music orientated XpressMusic devices. With sleeker styling than the 5800 XpressMusic, the Nokia X6 sports a 3.2 touchscreen display (same as the one in the N97 Mini), 3G and Wi-Fi connectivity as well as a 5 megapixel camera on the rear.

Being a music phone, the X6 has a 3.5mm headphone socket and an internal hard drive with a capacity of 32GB. The built-in multimedia player plays most music and video formats and the rear mounted camera has autofocus and dual LED flash for low light situations.

All in all the X6 is a step up from the 5800 XpressMusic, but is substantially more expensive; this may put some people off, but Nokia fans will love the sleek looks and small form factor.

The Nokia X6 is available now from free on contract or around £249 on Pay As You Go.

The new C series by Nokia aims to bring Symbian Smartphone’s to the masses with its first incarnation the Nokia C5. The company state that this mobile phone is optimised for social networking whilst retaining the functions of a Smartphone, all in a handy candy bar styled device.

The Nokia C5 features a 2.2 inch TFT display, 3G connectivity and a 3.2 megapixel camera. Aimed at the mid-range market, the C5 does not include Wi-Fi connectivity, but does feature a full blown multimedia player and 3.5mm headphone socket, a document viewer and GPS with Ovi Maps 3.0.

The C5 also boasts a microSD card slot for storing data and a secondary video call camera mounted on the front as well as easy access to social media sites such as Facebook, Flickr and YouTube.

The device itself is quite small, measuring 112 x 56 x 12.3 and weighs just 89.3 grams, which makes a change for the normally bulky Smartphone’s we are used to.

Whether this new series of Nokia mobile phones will take the market but storm is anyone’s guess, but the Nokia C5 will be released sometime between April and June this year and will retail for around £120.

The Nokia N900 is billed as a computer-grade device and takes its inspiration from the N810 internet tablet and N97 mobile phone. It runs the new Maemo 5 operating system, which is said to be its most user friendly OS.

This quad-band device has a large 3.5 inch touchscreen display, a full slide out QWERTY keyboard and a 32GB internal hard drive, as well as a microSD card slot for up to 16GB of expandable memory. The Nokia N900 also features a 5 megapixel camera with dual LED flash and a 3.5mm headphone socket and supports both 3G and Wi-Fi connectivity.

GPS navigation and Ovi Maps are also supported and the media player is capable of playing various music and video files including MP3, WMA, MP4 and Xvid. Files can be transferred to the device via Bluetooth or the bundled microUSB cable.

Measuring a healthy 111 x 60 x 18mm and weighing in at 181 grams, the N900 is a similar size to the N97, but does seem to have a smaller keyboard and the lack of a tilt mechanism may hinder visibility when using the QWERTY keys.

All in all, the Nokia N900 seems to be a viable alternative to the Nokia N97, focusing more on the internet functions and if the operating system proves to be user friendly enough then its sure to be very popular.
