Although it will only be available to selected countries, for the time being anyway, this new Android smartphone is offering something that is new. Android phones are coming to the market in increasing numbers, so it is important that manufacturers offer customers something that has an edge over their competitors.
Two new Android system ‘phones has been unveiled at a news conference in San Francisco, both with operate under the new Marshmallow Android operating system, amongst the benefits of this new system is up to 30% longer battery life.
So this is great news for those Android Wear users that might just happen to have an iPhone as it has been officially announced that the watches are now compatible with iPhones Users will be able to check messages, track fitness and use voice commands by installing the new Android Wear iOS app, compatible iPhones are 5, 5c, 5s, 6, or 6 Plus running iOS 8.2 and above.
It is now possible, with the help of the mobile coverage checker released by Ofcom, to avoid what for many has been the disappointment of buying a new smartphone and entering into an agreement with a service provider, only to find that when you got home there was limited, or worse no signal.
Those of a certain age can probably remember the days in 1977 when the first Commodore computer came onto the scheme and introduced a host of people to computing. Uber Technologies Inc. is an American company that specialises in allowing customers with a smartphone or computer to arrange a trip request which is then routed to Uber drivers who use their own cars. Uber’s app allows passengers to request rides from drivers in the area and its fares are generally lower than those of traditional taxis.
This is great news and one which many believe is long overdue; calls to 0800 and 0808 numbers are now free from all phones including mobiles under new Ofcom rules. Unless you have tiny fingers then you will have found using the keyboard that allows text and emails to be sent frustrating. So it was with interest that we read that the Chinese electronics company Lenovo has unveiled a phone with a built-in laser projector that can be used to display a virtual keyboard or display.
Possibly unwittingly, but Google has confirmed that that it’s going to unveil Android M at its I/O 2015 conference next week and it will have fingerprint technology. This is just one of the major new features that will be available to the users of Android M, which we think is really Android 6. If it is true them it will allow users to log in to all of the supported applications on their Android devices without entering a password, perhaps taking on Apple’s TouchID with native fingerprint unlocking.
