Ingnore previous email; I have discovered that the POWER key doubles as a LINK key. Sorry.

The hack works but is completely uneccessary as it is quicker to turn off the AVLS in the ‘SETTINGS@ menu

SETTING TEST MODE:
IN Section 2, paragraph 3. you say “While pressing the [LINK] key, press the key as following order…”

Am I missing something here? There is no ‘LINK’ key on my Sony NW-A3000. The only keys are: ‘POWER’, ‘VOL’, ‘HOLD’, ‘PLAY/PAUSE’, FOUR NAVIGATION PLANES (UP ARROW ‘^’ LEFT ARROW ”, DOWN ARROW ‘v’) ‘OPTION’ and ‘BACK’. There are no other buttons and neither does ‘Link’ appaear in any of the menus.

In any event, on my device it is possible to cancel the AVLS volume limiter merely by turning it off in the ‘settings’ menu.

Great hack, works perfectly.
Butttttt… Now my player freezes every few minutes! After about 10 seconds of silence it gets back to business. Tried to undo, but still freezes…

Anyone has a solution other than screwing with electronics?

Great stuff. But don’t switch the AVLS on again as it seems to resets the volume
and you have to go through the whole exercise again

Wow, thanks! I’ve had an NWA3000 for years and the volume hack has given it a new lease of life. Sounds better too

Ive had this unit for 3 years and ive only just worked it out, on my3000 you have to press option when you get to others menu for a couple of secs no other way made it work.

Ah.. I tryed this it came up with “POWER”

I also have my test button severely damged and stuck in..

I can use a knife to press the link button but I have to through the back part of the cover..

Im guessing this is very dangerous?:3

why dont you go to the settings and turn avls(vol.limit)the it will go to 30 rather than just 13
