I suffered from teething problems with syncing & errors in confirming remaining space. Basically sorted by visiting Philips site & following the instructions for emptying the player and hence forth using only Windows Media 10. Been excelent ever since though a better set of headphones has helped

I think I'll avoid this player. the negatives, too expensive for what it does, lack of codec support, quiet volume... to many people here are saying the exactly the kind of things I don't want to hear. I think there's little left to choose from now - IAudio will be getting my £200 for a X5l if I can find one locally before I fly out of the country.

I agree this player looks and sounds great. However.......

I am now on my second player, after having sent my previous one back 4 times - each time taking 3-4 weeks for repairs. Three times for mechanical reasons, only one software related.

This new one still does not function properly, same software problems as the first. I have some 4,500 tracks to sync and it takes me hours. I can only copy a handful of tracks at a time, so you can imagine how long it takes. And then, the other day I plugged it in to re-charge the battery and the whole library list disappeared. The player registered only about 12gb of space remaining, so i cross checked via WMP and there were all my tracks still on the player, but no access. Si I've had to restart the sync. Only a quarter of the way through, so you can imagine how frustrated I am.

And as for pictures? Forget it. I can load them on, but the players still shows list empty. Maybe there's a conflict with my PC.

My advice is DON't touch this player. I wish I'd stuck with Creative. My Nomad Jukebox Zen Extra, although aesthetically vulgar, was extremely more reliable until I accidently dropped it.
