Here is the latest gadget for kids, and we are talking the 3 – 10 years olds. This is the Buddy Bear Mobile Phone that will allow parents to keep track of their kids and give the kids the ability to keep in touch without letting them have an all singing all dancing phone. The Buddy Bear has 4 predetermined outbound phone numbers that it will call at the touch of a button. It can also send pre programmed SMS messages to these numbers and easily send an SOS call. This is a simple device which is easy for kids to use.
Not sure about the fact that it can also be used as a baby monitor / listening device so parents can hear what is being said in the vicinity of the phone if within a short distance from the receiver? The Buddy Bear phone is also meant to have less radiation so is safer to give to kids.
There is a question though, that do you want to be introducing your kids to mobile technology as young as 3, and would kids these days be happy to carry around the Buddy Bear phone rather than the latest Nokia or Motorola? We think not. Given the chance kids, whatever age, want what everyone else has, with polyphonic ringtones, built in cameras, SMS, MMS, and Mp3.
I heard about this phone and that it’s aimed at kids. It looks so babyish though. I could see it appealing to a 3 year old maybe… but anymore than 5 and they would just laugh.
My kids always want what adults have in terms of gadgets so they would hate this. Plus kids are not the best at keeping track of possessions so this would end up missing.
My mates 18 month old son only wants my SPV C550 because it has more lights on than other phones and he knows i use it. You can give him old nokias and samsung d500′s and he just throws them on the floor.
