Archos is one of the world leaders in digital portable entertainment solutions providing top quality portable audio, video, photo and DVR devices. The AV500 is available in 30 – 100GB options. It has a 4″ colour wide screen for viewing DVD quality movies and video recordings. You can also record TV programs straight off your TV and set it to make scheduled recordings, or record from your DVD or VCR. It also works as a photo viewer and Mp3 player. With the 100GB storage capacity this allows you to store up to 400 hours of video, 250 movies, 55,000 songs or 1 million photos.

The Archos AV500 can store MPEG4, MP3, WAV, Jpeg and BMP files, which can be downloaded from your PC via a USB connection. It is small as well measuring only 4.9″ x 3″ x 0.9″ and weighs in at 315grams. Battery life is good with 15 hours of music playback and 4.5 hours of video playback, obviously the 4″ screen takes a lot of powering. The device also has a built in speaker and microphone. All this for under £300… brilliant.
