Sky Gnome
This is a great buy for just £69.99 and the most stylish cheap Dab Radio you can buy. The Sky Gnome as well as tuning into normal radio stations, will also stream audio from any Sky channel, even programmes that you’ve recorded on your Sky Plus box. To listen to any Sky channel just key in the Sky channel number eg. 456, and you’ll then be able to listen to whatever is on 456.
The Backlit LCD screen tells you the time, date and the channel that you’re listening to including the channel name. The 2 speakers at the back of the Gnome are very clear but if they are not to your satisfaction then you can use the 3.5mm audio out jack and plug it into your stereo or PC.
If you take the Gnome out into the garden there’s a rechargeable battery that will last up to 8 hours and it has a 30 metre range. If you’re just using it inside there’s a DC in so you can power it from the mains.

I’m interested in getting one of these as I think I would make more use of my sky+ box, just to listen to Sky Sports while i’m doing jobs around the house. Is it possible to listen to say sky sports on the gnome while the wife watches her soaps?

I was wondering this when I have seen them advertised on TV. I doubt you would be able to tune into more than one channel on your sky box though

Sky this kept very quiet, there is no mention of it but i have been bought one and NO you cannot listen to 1 channel while someone else is watching another sky channel, you would need another box, this makes it less than half as good as DAB radio as you can have as many of those tuned into any station you want. You can listen when the telly is off which is helpful, but £70 is expensive for half a DAB radio and a tv audio receiver.
