Mustek DV5500 Camcorder
Think of something you bought which looked really really good, but you used it once and then you decided that it wasn’t as good as you thought and it’s been in the cupboard ever since. The same principle applies for this Mustek DV5500. It looks fairly nice and on paper it sounds fairly good. But it’s not, its junk, it really is that bad.
If you have a shaky hand then you’re going to get really poor results as you can’t keep it focused on one thing. Ok so it does photos… will this be the saviour? Not likely, the colours bleed into one another and they look poor. And why does a so called camcorder need an Mp3 player? You’re meant to be recording video footage not listening to Status Quo. When did you last see Sony or Panasonic put an Mp3 player in one of their products like a camera or camcorder? Never, so only knows why Mustek did it.
Please just buy a semi decent digital camera with your £150 you saved by reading this review, because it will record better video footage and take much better photos.

Couldn’t have put it better myself. I actually got one of these given to me as a present but I have been very dissapointed with the performance from it. Definately one to put in a cupboard and forget about.

With any other present i’d say give it to someone at christmas but, they’ll probably be just as dissapointed. Try and sell it on ebay
