Samsung S5620 Monte Review

Samsung has released yet another affordable touchscreen mobile phone, the S5620 Monte. The Samsung Monte aims to bring high-end features to the masses and features 3G, Wi-Fi and GPS connectivity, a 3 inch touchscreen and a 3.1 megapixel camera.

The Monte is quad-band, so can be used all over the world and features Samsung’s TouchWiz 2.0 user interface to navigate around the device. It also boasts a 3.5mm headphone socket and microSD card slot for saving music and video files.

The 3.1 megapixel camera is pretty basic and has no flash, but does include geo-tagging and smile detection for some pretty good shots.

Measuring 109 x 54 x 12.4mm and weighing 92 grams, the Samsung Monte is a compact phone and fits nicely in the hand.

Whether it will make a dent in the already over-populated mid-rang touchscreen phone market will remain to be seen, but anyone wanting their first touchscreen device with internet and social networking applications can’t go far wrong.

The Samsung Monte is out now from free on contract or around £150 sim free.
