Samsung I8520 Beam – boasting a projector and Android OS

It’s been a busy old time at the Mobile World Congress so far, with many of the mobile phone manufacturers showcasing devices that will be available in the future and none so than Samsung Mobile Phones who unveiled the I8520 Beam.

This quad-band Smartphone runs Android OS, has a 3.7 inch toucscreen, an 8 megapixel camera and best of all a built-in projector. Samsung state that the Beam is capable of recording High Definition video up to 720p, which is great for capturing impromptu videos and showing them to your friends via the projector.

The Samsung Beam also features 3.5G and Wi-Fi connectivity as well as a multimedia player compatible with all common formats including Windows media and Divx. A 3.5mm headphone socket is built in and memory can be expanded up to 32GB via the microSD card slot.

The 8 megapixel camera has autofocus, smile and blink detection and Geo-tagging features and an LED flash. A front mounted VGA camera is also featured for video calling.

There is no word on when the Samsung I8520 Beam will be released or how much it will be, but expect it to create a lot of interest when it does become available.
