When you’re competing against the best gadget of the past year and already has it place in the history books, your product needs to be on par or better than your rival, the Ipod. The Sleek photo is a media player that doubles up as a Mp3 player and photo viewer.

The brushed aluminium on the sides of the Creative Zen Sleek Photo and part of the front looks marvellous. The buttons are easy to use once you’ve got used to them but you will still find every now and again that you go in to the wrong menu. But the Click wheel is so easy to use it will take a great device to beat it.

The 262,144 colour BriteVue screen certainly does look well suited on the Zen and is excellent for viewing your digital photos on. It has an FM tuner and voice recorder built in and your Sleek supports the subscription based music services which gives it added flexibility. It can handle Mp3’s, WAV and WMA files with a great 19 hours of battery life. The only thing that the Sleek could have included is the ability to listen to your music while looking at photos.

The 20GB Sleek Photo costs around £219 which is about the same price of the 30GB Video Ipod. It may be bad timing for Creative though having brought this out after everyone has rushed out and bought the new iPod….
