Sony Ericsson Satio – 12 megapixel touchscreen phone
We first saw this phone back in February as the Idou, but Sony Ericsson has announced the full specification of its newest top of the range mobile phone, which will now be called the Satio. This powerhouse of a phone uses the Symbian S60 5th edition operating system, which is similar to the one found on Nokia’s 5800 XpressMusic handset.
Other features include quad-band GSM and tri-band HSDPA networks, a massive 3.5 inch TFT touchscreen display and of course that huge 12.1 megapixel camera. The camera features a xenon flash and LED video flash, as well as autofocus, face and smile detection and geo-tagging. A front mounted VGA videocall camera is also included.
As you would expect from a high-end Sony Ericsson device, the Satio features GPS, Wi-Fi and HSDPA capabilities, and in a growing trend from Sony, the Memory Stick Micro card slot has been replaced with an ever popular microSD card slot.
A full multimedia player is also built-in that can play various audio and video files and an FM radio is also included if you fancy a change.
The Sony Ericsson Satio measures 112 x 55 x 13mm and weighs around 126 grams, which is quite impressive for how much stuff is in there.
The Sony Ericsson Satio is due for release in the third quarter of 2009 and will be available in black, red and silver.
