Wii MotionPlus confirmed for 12th June UK launch

Nintendo has announced that the Wii MotionPlus add-on for the Wii controllers will be released on the 8th of July in the US and the 12th July in UK and Europe. Funnily enough, Wii Sports Resort, which will use the MotionPlus system, will not be released till the 24th July in the US and a couple of days later (26th) in Europe.

So what can you use you Wii MotionPlus add-ons for while you’re waiting for Wii Sports Resort? Well there are a couple of EA games coming out at the same time including Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 and Grand Slam Tennis, as well as Sega’s Virtual Tennis 2009, which all support the MotionPlus system.

Nintendo’s Wii MotionPlus will slot onto the bottom of your Wii controller and allow more precision and a greater level of movement. Nintendo hope that the add-on will persuade games developers to make a wider range of games for the console.

There is no word on a UK price yet, but the device will retail for $19.99 in the US.
