Samsung GT-S8300 Tocco Ultra Edition has AMOLED screen

Samsung has announced a new 8 megapixel camera phone, which has both a touchscreen display and a slide out keyboard. Called the Samsung Tocco Ultra Edition or the GT-S8300, this will be one of Samsung’s flagship phones.

Although this new device sports the Tocco name, like the Samsung F480, the GT-S8300 is a totally different device with upgraded specs. The Key features of the GT-S8300 Tocco Ultra Edition are its 2.8 inch AMOLED touchscreen display and the powerful 8 megapixel camera.

The device also benefits from a slide out numerical keyboard for easy texting, 3G HSDPA connectivity, a built-in GPS receiver and a fully fledged multimedia player. Internal memory is 80MB and a microSD card slot is also included, capable of taking up to 16GB.

Bluetooth and USB connections are included, so files can be transferred and stored on the device, and Samsung has also said that the GT-S8300 will have the upgraded user interface TouchWiz 1.5, which is already getting great reviews.

The Samsung GT-S8300 Tocco Ultra Edition is expected to be available from the beginning of March; there is no word on availability or pricing at the moment.

So i’m guessing a AMOLED is the same as a OLED then ?

Hopefully we should start see-ing these in more and more phones. A sharp crisp imagine on a screen is always a selling point to me
