Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1

The Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 is set to become one of the iPhones major competitors once it’s released later this year. The Xperia X1 will be Sony Ericsson’s first Windows Mobile handset and prepares to take the iPhone head on.

The Xperia X1 encompasses an exquisite design, featuring a 3 inch touchscreen with a resolution of 800×480 and a unique sliding action called the arc slider that is intended for better screen visibility whilst using the full QWERTY keyboard.

The Xperia X1 also features Windows Mobile 6.1 operating software which includes, Microsoft Office and Outlook for writing documents and checking emails, Windows Media Player, MSN and Internet Explorer for that all important web browsing.

The HSDPA mobile broadband lets you connect to the internet at the fastest speed available, but also has WiFi connectivity when in range of a wireless hotspot. The Xperia Panel User Interface allows the user to change between a given application. The panel interface stores up to nine icons on the main screen that the user can configure to their preferences.

With a 3.2 megapixel camera, integrated WiFi and GPS, various audio and video playback, Bluetooth, Windows Mobile 6.1, 400mb internal memory and microSD memory card slot the Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 is set to give the iPhone a run for its money.

The Xperia X1 is due for release in the 4th quarter of this year; there is no word on price yet though.
