Xbox One controller to get a proper headphone port
According to the Microsoft official support page it seems as though the new Xbox will have a headphone port that will take the standard 3.5mm jack and be on a par with its competitor PlayStation 4, which has a headphone port.
Anyone trawling through the internet on Wednesday night will have noticed an update to the controller description page on the Xbox Support site, which included mention of a new “3.5-mm port” located right next to the current “expansion port” on the bottom of the controller.
This has to be great news for the many Xbox fans that currently have to have to purchase a separate stereo headset adapter to use headphones with the controller. The report indicated that Microsoft will release a new Xbox One controller with a built-in headphone port sometime “after June 2015,” however the official Xbox support site has since been amended to remove the reference.
So is the new controller to have the ability to support headphones through the port or not, it seems as though we may have to wait until the Electronic Entertainment Expo press conference on June 15th to know for certain if the controller will have this or any other features, we do know however that there is to be a new controller coming out in June. Time will tell as they say!
