Video iPod

Video ipod Ok the wait is finally over The Video Ipod is here. But is it going to be worth the £299 for the 60GB version (150 hours video storage) or even £219 for the 30GB ( 75 hours video storage) Ipod. It has the high build quality and finish that we have come to expect from Apple over the past 2 years. But to us here at Techlounge the screen is just too small to watch any TV episode or feature length movie on, the screen size is only 2.5″? and has the aspect ratio of 4:3 so you couldn’t watch the latest TV series without feeling odd about it.
Apple say its not a dedicated movie player, it just has a bigger screen than the photo Ipod. The average end user will probably be happy to watch the odd movie clip on it but nothing more. Here at Techlounge we’d maybe choose the Sony PSP for watching movies. The Sony PSP won’t store as much on the memory card but at the end of the day the main use of it is a games console, and playing movies in 16:9 ratio is just a big bonus.

This has to be the most talked about gadget on the web, but I can’t see the appeal to it. Like Rory said what sort of screen is that for watching a movie on…we’ll all end up blind

You would think you cant watch videos on it properly, but u can! i know this because i’ve got it, its better obviously on a bigger screen, but it would do, the other day i was watching waterboy on it so its quite kool. The only bad thing is that u can only watch about one movie before the battery runs out!
