It has been revealed that we can expect the new Playstation 3 console, that is due to be released in the Autumn, to be completely backwardly compatible. This means that it will have the capability to play every single Playstation game ever produced including the games for the original Playstation, the PSOne and PS2.
Sony apparently rejected the processor when it was found out that the new PS3 wouldn’t play around 40 of the old games. You can imagine that this new console has had some very rigourous testing done to it. Now that would be quite a top job to have, testing Playstation games on the new PS3!
This puts Sony miles ahead of the Microsoft Xbox 360 as there are only about 20 original Xbox games that work on the Xbox360.
