On Techlounge we don’t normally tell you the latest information on cars but this one is a real eye catcher. If you have $250,000 spare or just sat in your bank account, and you like cars here is the ultimate buy.
On paper this car is quicker than a Ferrari Enzo and cheaper as the Enzo starts at $700,000.
The Freestream T1 supercar project started out with 2 guys that worked on the Mercedes-Benz SLR and the McLaren F1 Supercar. The company was bought out by Caparo which is an automotive consultancy firm. The project is now likley to be acclerated and for the car to be shipped around the end of 2006.
Now for the interesting stuff, the Caparo T1 is a 2 seater with a Mid mounted all-alloy 2.4 litre supercharged V8 with 500 BHP, which is offering near F1 performance. Capable of 200MPH this car is a track day car but also can be used on the road. Only 25 will be built a year and they claim that 20 of this years 25 have already been sold, which means that the Caparo T1 looks to be bit of a collectors item and be a rare sight on the roads.
The Caparo T1 is capable of 3G acceleration, braking and cornering. Pretty much the whole car is made from carbon fibre which aids the car as it weighs in at only 465KG.
This car definitely is a true bargin at only $250,000 but would you really want to use it?
Finally. The F1 car for the road. Although you would completely wreck the undercarriage going over any speed bump. Its still worth it.
