Nintendo DS

Nintendo DS Ok, so in the Sony PSP review someone said they prefer the Nintendo DS so here’s the review.
In the late 80’s and early 90’s the main plays in gaming where Nintendo and Sega. Sega had Sonic, whereas Nintendo had Mario. But look now in the market Sega are nowhere to be seen, and Nintendo have focused their technological advances on handheld after the Dreamcast was such a poor gaming system. Sony and Microsoft have the console market. So it was just Nintendo in the handheld market until Sony launched the Sony PSP. We get the feeling that the PSP is for the older kids/adults, 17 upwards as the majority of games are aimed at that market e.g. Grand Theft Auto. The Nintendo DS is generally for the younger market with the Mario games.

When we played the DS we loved it going back to our youth with Mario and friends but we still feel that its looks don’t break any new grounds. One great feature is the touch screen that can be used with the stylus in conjunction with the second screen and the normal controls. The Nintendo DS also takes the games that you may still have from your Nintendo Gameboy. The only downside to the touch screen is how touch it is from children playing too roughly with it, and always remember to keep a spare stylus pen with you.

When it comes to gaming handheld gadgets I definately think that the PSP is a big boy toy and the DS is for the kids.
