Nokia Lumia 1320 lands on the 24th Feb in the UK

Nokia’s new 6 inch smartphone the Lumia 1320 is set for a 24th Feb release date in the UK the company has announced.

This smartphone, designed primarily for the mid to low-end markets features a 1.7GHz dual core processor, 1GB Ram and 8GB of internal memory. There is also a microSD card slot to bump the memory up by another 64GB and 7GB of SkyDrive cloud storage included.

Nokia said that the Windows Phone 8 powered device will be available from the UK networks EE, Virgin Media and Carphone Warehouse, the latter is currently offering the Nokia Lumia 1320 for free on a 24 month, £21 contract and is available to pre-order now.

Nokia and indeed Microsoft will hope that the Lumia 1320 is a success in the mid to low-end market as the Windows Phone 8 operating system has failed to ignite the market which is dominated by Android and iOS. According to the IDC, Windows Phone OS held a mere 3 percent of the global market in the last quarter of 2013.

The Nokia Lumia 1320 will go on sale in the UK on the 24th February, it will be available in a range of colours including yellow, white, black and red.

In other news, Microsoft is rumoured to be considering whether or not to allow Android apps to run on their Windows Phone devices in a bid to boost the operating systems popularity.
