Canon EOS 350D - Digital Rebel

Canon EOS 350d digital camera This Canon EOS 350D, often referred to as the Digital Rebel, is a leading digital camera from Canon that has won many awards for it’s quality and technology. The Canon EOS 350D incorporates the CMOS technology for higher image quality, with the ability to take 3 frames per second, with a 14 frame per second burst. One great benefit of the Canon EOS 350D is the 0.2 second start up.

The Canon EOS 350D is perfect for experienced or amateur photographers as it is easy to use. The focusing on the camera is aided by the 7 auto focus points which are set into the frame. This is for fast and accurate focusing, ideal for sports photos or wildlife. The camera has a pop-up flash that ensures that the lighting for the image is correct.

The photographs can be taken and stored in Jpeg or RAW, or both formats, so that you can either direct print them or post process the photos. With a USB connector you have high speed connection to a PC or direct printing to PictBridge compatible printers. The EOS 350D takes CF and CFII memory cards up to 2GB so the storage of photos won’t be a problem. If you are thinking of taking up photography and would like a good quality, easy to use digital camera then this is a great option.

That’s a very nice looking camera with a high spec

Jonathon, the picture of the Canon EOS 350D doesn’t really do it any justice. In the flesh it is 10 times better looking. The best thing about this camera is the auto focus. The camera itself comes with a decent enough lens but if you were thinking about taking very good shots then you may need to invest in a better zoom lens. This Digital Rebel, coupled with a quality Canon photo printer like an IP8500 produces really top quality photos

One thing though - I really advise to go for a better lense set. A wide-angle and a telephoto lense.
Or if you do not need a wide-angle lense - just go for for something universal like Canon EF-S 17-85 f4-5.6 IS USM - which has got more zoom (85mm, compared to the default 350D kit lense with its 55), and it has also got the IS (image stabilization, which really helps) and USM (ultra sonic motor, which is responsible for even faster auto-focus).

I have got a Fuji FinePix S7000 but the auto focus takes to long, the ultra sonic motor on the Canon EOS 350D for faster auto-focus is something what would be very advantageous.

and thanks for the advice on the universal zoom lens Martin
