A new 5 mega pixel camera that is set to be launched by Panasonic, is the Lumix DMC-LS2. Panasonic have improved their DMC-LS1 with a new stylish design and new technology. The most impressive part of this digital camera is the MEGA O.I.S. which is an Optical Image Stabiliser.
We can all say that we have produced poor and blurred photos with a digital camera due to the curses of “handshake”. Normally this happens when you are rushing to take a photo to capture a moment or if the shutter speed has slowed due to poor light. It is always dissappointing to have missed that perfect shot. The MEGA O.I.S. is meant to illiminate this problem and Panasonic are the first manufacturer to incorporate this technology into a compact digital camera.
The other advantages of this digital camera is that it works off 2 standard AA batteries so you won’t have to keep your charger on hand after a busy photo session. The 2″ LCD screen allows you to review your photos in good quality and you can also check them out in thumbnails, up to 25 at a time. The Lumix DMC-LS2 has 14MB of onboard memory with the ability to fill extra SD memory cards with all of your shots.
I’m looking forward to getting my hands on this camera as I am really prone to producing blurred photos on the fly due to handshake syndrome..
The first impression when I saw the MEGA OIS title was “it sounds like marketing trick” – just a posh name. But then I did some questioning of my paparazzi friends and they admitted this technology is indeed extremely helpfull (especially with high zoom-in’s) in cameras like this.
The camera indeed looks promising.
